PTFE COVERS (sometimes referred to as Teflon) act as a protective barrier to hot wire contacts and provides a quick release surface. Applicable for temperatures from 400°F to 600°F. The covers and tapes are a natural brown color and have the USDA approval for direct contact with food. The PTFE Covers are available in 5mil thickness from a width of 1" to 12" in precut sizes for different types of sealers, or by the roll in 10 yard or 36 yard rolls. The Zone PFTE Cover is available in 1 1/2", 5mil thickness. Other sizes are available by special order.

PTFE ADHESIVES similar to PTFE covers except with a silicone adhesive backing. The adhesives are applicable for temperatures between -100°F to 500° Fahrenheit (-73° Celsius to 260° Celsius). They are available from 1/2" to 2" widths in 3mil, 6mil, and 10 mil. thickness with a removable liner. Other sizes with or without a liner are available by special order.

Important Point to Remember: For the PTFE adhesive, you must replace the bottom sealing strip whenever you change the element.  The adhesive serves as a barrier between the heating element and the sealer's body.  When the sealer's heating element has burned through the bottom adhesive and arc'ed on the sealer's body, the element will break as well as destroy the timer.  When you replace your adhesive, make sure the adhesive is 1/4"-1/2" past the machine on both ends to prevent the heating element from coming into contact with the sealer's body.
